SGA ‘15 kicks off this weekend

This weekend, the people behind the Swedish Game Awards are hosting a conference featuring talks, workshops and a party at a geeky nightclub.

Swedish Game Awards, the annual celebration of the Swedish games industry, is hosting its Conference, SGA ‘15, in Stockholm this weekend, at Stockholms Södertörn University.

Throughout the conference – which is scheduled to start Saturday at 10 and end at Sunday at 18 – the participants will be taken through a long list of talks and workshops, all related to working in the gaming industry.

The full program can be found on the Conference’s Facebook page and includes talks from existing game studios such as Avalanche, Arrowhead and MAG as well as a Dragon’s Den, where students can pitch their game concepts in front of industry veterans and an audience.

On Saturday evening, there will be a big party at a nearby nightclub called Syntax Error, apparently “the geekiest nightclub in town” with video games, board games and bit pop.

Also attending the conference are representatives from Rovio Stockholm, Paradox Interactive and Diversi as well as the already mentioned Avalanche, Arrowhead and MAG, giving the participants a great opportunity to say hello and build their network.

Registration for the event closed Thursday at 22:00, but on wednesday, you can read an interview with the organizers right here on NordicGameBits.
