Rovio Announces Angry Birds 2
With over 3 billion downloads, the Angry Birds franchise is truly part of an amazing story about how mobile games turned into a billion dollar industry in a matter of years. And now, 6 years after the release of the first game in the franchise, Angry Birds 2 has been announced! The game will arrive in App Stores across the world on July 30, and Rovio knows what is at stake here. Because although everyone knows about Angry Birds, few play the games anymore.
Angry Birds 2 has been developed by Rovio’s Stockholm studio, and the company is more than sure that people will fall in love with the franchise all over again as soon as the sequel to the once so popular title is out. 6 Nordic Games Get to go to Gamescom courtesy of Indie Arena Booth
Six Nordic studios get to go to Gamescom in Germany this year as part of the group of 42 game developers that Indie Arena Booth are sending to the conference. The developers will have a total of 500 m² exhibition space to show off their games to all the interested visitors at Gamescom.
The Nordic game developers that will be exhibiting at the Indie Arena Booth are Danish KnapNok Games with Affordable Space Adventures, Finnish Frogmind with BADLAND: Game of the Year Edition, Swedish Raw Fury Games with Kingdom, Norwegian Rock Pocket Games with Shiftlings, Finnish Shark Punch with The Masterplan, and Finnish Glad Game Studio with Fallman.
Among the Sleep and Humble Game Making Bundle
Also this week, two interesting game bundle deals were launched. The first is a Kickstarter edition of the well-known Humble Bundles. The bundle includes Among the Sleep, which has been developed by Norwegian Krillbite Studio.
Additionally, for any soon-to-be developers reading this post, Humble Bundle is also running a “Humble Game Making Bundle” this week, which includes lots of great tools and software useful for getting started with game development.
Tiny Troopers 2: Special Ops lands on Windows Phone
After its initial release on iOS in 2013, Finnish Kukouri‘s Tiny Troopers 2: Special Ops has now finally landed on Windows Phone. The port of the first Tiny Troopers game saw over 2 million downloads and an average rating of 4.6 on the Windows Phone platform, so the hopes are naturally high for the Tiny Troopers 2 game.
