A Chance to Showcase for Free at Gamescom

At over 350,000 visitors, Gamescom in Germany is Europe’s biggest trade fair for games, and Finnish Shark Punch is now giving three lucky indie developers a chance to showcase their game at the event for free.

The competition is part of a promotion for Shark Punch’s Playfield platform, which is a social discovery and community platform for games.

The platform launched in open beta several months ago, but has recently been ramping up in terms of new features, and Shark Punch hints at a few big announcements for Playfield at the Slush 2015 conference.

A total of 3 winners will be chosen from three different categories – one winner in each category.

The three categories are; the most followed game on Playfield, the game with most “I’d play that” votes, and lastly, the Jury’s choice.

The jury will judge the top-5 best games from the other two categories based on design, innovation, and execution.

The prizes include two tickets to Gamescom Cologne, accommodation in or near Cologne, and a booth space to showcase the game at the Indie Arena Playfield Booth together with the other winners.

Shark Punch attended Gamescom themselves last year, showcasing their most recent game, The Masterplan, which has since gone on to see great success on Steam.

Sharkpunch’s The Masterplan is out on Steam.

“We were showing our game at Indie Arena last year, and had a great experience,” says Shark Punch CEO Jiri Kupiainen. “With Playfield, our goal is to help other indies reach their fans, and helping them go to gamescom is a very concrete way of doing that.”

And at Gamescom, the competition is received with open arms too:
